OSHA Certification now required by 7 states

The OSHA 10 hour construction course is required in New York, Nevada, Missouri, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island for publicly funded work projects.  In most cases the requirement is determined by the size of the project funding amount.  That amount varies from state to state.  Nevada and Connecticut also require that individuals retake the OSHA 10 & 30 hour test every 5 years.

A large number of smaller government agencies, including, city, county and other municipal agencies have adopted this standard as well. This list grows constantly. Even some state universities have made the OSHA 10 hour construction course a requirement for work at the university. If you are doing work on any government project, check for special requirements they may have.

In most cases, the online version of the OSHA 10 hour construction course meets these requirements.  The OSHA 10 & 30 hour certifications provided by PureSafety offer a fast, efficient way to obtain the training needed.

As you’d expect each state has a unique set of requirements.  In future posts we will cover the topic in more depth and highlight specific state requirements.

  1. Even though safety training programs like 10 hour osha training are not required in other places, companies and organizations still likes workers with such training or they still like to provide their own workers that safety course.
